Arbutus Fire-Rescue Log: Crews pump out several feet of water from basement on UMBC campus

Among the 77 calls the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received for medical and emergency help during the period June 17-24 were the following:

1000 Hilltop Circle, 10:37 a.m. June 23. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded to a request for an emergency pumping action on the campus of theUniversity of Maryland, Baltimore County, and removed 11 feet of water from a basement.

Cantwell Road, 1500 block, 12:37 a.m. June 22. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Randallstown career station responded to the report of a dangerous gas in a Westview residence and found hazardous levels of carbon monoxide in the dwelling. One seriously injured person taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma/Hyperbaric Chamber.

Maiden Choice Lane at Wilkens Avenue, 11:59 a.m. June 21. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident in Arbutus. One seriously injured person taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

1000 Hilltop Circle, 7:08 p.m. June 18. Crews responded to the report of an injured and unresponsive person on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and transported one seriously injured person to a local hospital.

Ashbourne Road, 5500 block, 11:27 a.m. June 17. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to a request to determine the safety of a dwelling in Arbutus and found no carbon monoxide or other hazards in the dwelling.
