The National Weather Service is calling for Thursday to be sunny and hot in the Baltimore area, with a high near 99 and northwest winds between 3 and 5 miles per hour.
A heat advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday for the Baltimore area. Forecasters warn that heat index values will be as high as 105 degrees Thursday.
Thursday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 79 and west winds around 5 miles per hour or less. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight.
Friday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 94 and west winds between 3 and 7 miles per hour. There is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m.
Friday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 74 and northwest winds around 6 miles per hour. There is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10 p.m.
