Friday, June 22 is "Take your dog to work day," a celebration created in 1999 by Pet Sitters International to promote dog adoption.

PSI's website offers lots of tips for making the day successful. Really, it's probably not a good idea for you just to show up with your 160 pound mastiff and expect your boss to be happy. But if you plan in advance and get your company on board, chances are you and your furry friend might have a great day in the cubicle or wherever you happen to work, right?

Among PSI's helpful offering: Tips for planning a pet visit to work and a sample "dogs at work" policy to share with your bosses or pass out to your employees. There's also a photo contest so you can show everyone that my dog's better than your dog.

Read up, make your plans, and don't forget to pack Caeser a lunch and bring along some toys.
