How dare your letter writer compare President George Bush to Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak and to Nazi war criminals after World War II.
America, before, during and after the Sept. 11 attacks on our soil, also had our U.S. Embassies, Ambassadors, our U.S. ally Israel, our Marines and American civilians abroad, attacked and murdered by terrorists who were aided and abetted by Iraq andal-Qaidaand their assorted mercenaries.
Our brave soldiers were volunteers defending our country which is still being threatened. They were and are fighting a legitimate war against a radical Muslim hate cult whose mission is a "caliphate" over all of the Middle East, Asia, Africa and America.
It is they who are acting like Nazis' in their damnation of anyone who is not of their own ilk. They feel justified to murder and violate any non-Muslim person's right to exist. They detest the American Constitution and our Judeo-Christian moral values.
Your writer claims that "perhaps media figures are afraid to disturb American illusions of superiority and exceptionalism." I say: We Americans are indeed superior and exceptional in that we have always advocated more freedom, tolerance, hard working entrepreneurs and personal liberty. That is what President Bush was defending, and that is worth fighting for.
