A man was shot in the leg in West Baltimore on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
Police responded to the intersection of Edmondson Avenue and Whitmore Avenue about 3:30 p.m. for reports of gunfire, Detective Nicole Monroe said.

The location is just northeast of the West Baltimore MARC Station and the Mary Ann Winterling and Lockerman Bundy elementary schools.
The man was taken to an area hospital.
Western District detectives were still investigating the shooting, Monroe said.
