City seeks input on redrawing boundaries of Laurel's wards

Members of the city's Census and Ward Boundary Review Committee will hold a public meeting to gather input on proposed adjustments to the boundaries of Laurel's two voting districts on Wednesday, June 20 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road.

The Census and Ward Boundary Review Committee is reviewing Laurel's 2010 Census data to determine if the ward boundaries need to be adjusted to assure equal representation of demographic groups.

Maps of the existing ward boundaries and maps of two proposed options for redrawing the ward boundaries are available at the city's website laurel.md.us.The city's website also includes the Census data used to develop the proposed changes to the ward boundaries.
