SUNY OSWEGO: Sarah Plotycia of Bel Air, a senior meteorology major, has been named to the seans' list for the spring semester at SUNY Oswego. The president's and deans' lists represent the academic top 28.8 percent of the Oswego student body. To be included on the deans' list, students must have a semester grade average of 3.30 to 3.79.

CECIL COLLEGE: Cecil College announces that Harford County residents Paul Snader of Havre de Grace, Kathryn Hundertmark of Churchville, Brittany North of Joppa, Kelly Riale of Whiteford and Karen Welsh of Darlington made the president's list for the spring 2012 semester. To qualify for the president's list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.75 or better for that semester.

GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY: Stewart Hall of Monkton earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for spring 2012 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Undergraduate students earning a 4.00 academic average for the semester gain the distinction of Faculty Honors at Georgia Tech.

WIDENER UNIVERSITY: The following students from the area were named to the dean's list for the spring 2012 semester at Widener University in Chester, Pa.: Lauren Beougher of Belcamp, Emily Bochniak of Fallston, Andrew Jester of Carney, Robert Knight of Darlington, Danielle Ruggio of Havre de Grace, Emily Shumaker of Belcamp, Joshua Wetzel of Bel Air and Jessica Wheeler of Bel Air.

The following students graduated from Widener this spring: Lauren Beougher of Belcamp, with a bachelor's degree in social work; Robert Knight of Darlington, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; Emily Shumaker of Belcamp, with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering; Joshua Wetzel of Bel Air, a bachelor's degree in management; and Bryan Dye of Bel Air, with a doctorate degree in physical therapy.

MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA: The following local residents have been named to Millersville University of Pennsylvania's dean's list for the spring 2012 semester: Lydia R. Beyer, a senior from Delta, Pa.; Deanna V. Bowersox, a sophomore from Delta; Brierley M. Burdette, a sophomore from Stewartstown, Pa.; Zachery T. Cave, a sophomore from Delta; Felicia L. Chalfant, a junior from Stewartstown; Melissa M. Chenoweth, a junior from Stewartstown; Rebecca A. Fairchild, a sophomore from Stewartstown; David H. Felts, a senior from Rising Sun; Michele A. Garey, a senior from Fawn Grove, Pa.; Abbey L. Lichtenberg, a junior from Stewartstown, Pa.; Shane J. McCormick, a senior from Delta, Pa.; Erin C. Petty, a freshman from Jarrettsville; Katelin N. UNIVERSITY OF THE SCIENCES: Nicholas Kuklane of Kingsville, received a bachelor of science degree from University of the Sciences during a ceremony on May 18. This year marked the first bachelor's degree ceremony for some 240 students in the master of occupational therapy, doctor of occupational therapy, doctor of physical therapy and doctor of pharmacy programs. The ceremony was for students who were eligible to earn a bachelor's degree during the 2011-12 academic year even as they continue their matriculation toward their professional degrees. Kuklane now continues on a path toward a doctor of pharmacy degree with an anticipated graduation in May 2014.
