Danika Nolan, daughter of David and Marti Nolan of Forest Hill, was recently inducted into the Pi Gamma Mu international honor society of the social sciences at Salisbury University. Pi Gamma Mu promotes excellence in, and recognizes outstanding contributions to, the social sciences. Nolan is a junior majoring in nursing. She is a member of the Outdoor Club, Student Nurses Association and Phi Eta Sigma national freshman honor society. She is a Henson Scholarship recipient and a dean's list student. Nolan graduated from Fallston High School in 2009.

Casey Condon, daughter of Michael and Lana Condon of Bel Air, received the Wood-Miller Scholarship at the 2012 Spring Honors Convocation at Salisbury University. The Wood-Miller Scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates academic achievement and a dedicated interest in teaching math and science. Condon is a senior majoring in earth science. She is a member of Gamma Theta Uplison, Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Eta Sigma. Condon is a 2008 graduate of Fallston High School in Fallston.

Casey Hartzell, daughter of Frank and Denise Hartzell of Abingdon, received the Avery W. Hall Scholarship at the 2012 Spring Honors Convocation at Salisbury University. This scholarship is presented to a nursing student who is thought to be highly motivated, hard working, enthusiastic and dedicated to the profession of nursing. Hartzell is a sophomore majoring in nursing and a member of the women's rugby team. Hartzell is a 2010 graduate of Harford Technical High School in Bel Air.

ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE: "Pirates of Penzance," a Gilbert and Sullivan comedic operetta, took the stage at Elizabethtown College's Leffler Chapel and Performance Center Sunday, May 6. Angelina Sypolt, a sophomore, of Port Deposit, and Joe Holback, a first-year student from Fallston, and Rachel Lane, a junior, of Forest Hill, performed in the concert.

MESSIAH COLLEGE: The following students were named to the dean's list for the 2012 spring semester at Messiah College: Kingsville resident Katharine Addington, a senior majoring in English; Forest Hill resident Kaitlin Christopher, a senior majoring in elementary education; Delta resident Sara Feveryear, a senior majoring in education certification (pre-K to fourth); Havre de Grace resident Emily Hall, a senior majoring in athletic training; Street resident Jacob Harkins, a senior majoring in international business; Bel Air resident Shannon Kelly, a junior majoring in nursing; Bel Air resident Rebekah Lawrence, a sophomore majoring in education dual certification (pre-K and special ed); Stewartstown resident Sarah Pedersen, a junior majoring in nursing; Jarrettsville resident Stephanie Schell, a senior majoring in molecular biology; Bel Air resident Alanna Sweetser, a senior majoring in accounting; Bel Air resident Kelly Thomas, a senior majoring in nursing; Stewartstown resident George Waltemire, a senior majoring in music performance.

Bel Air resident Shannon Fritz received a graduate degree. Fritz graduated magna cum laude with a master of arts in counseling.

JUNIATA COLLEGE: Juniata College has named 381 students to the dean's list for the 2012 spring semester. Among those honored are Genevieve Elyse Boutilier, of Bel Air, the daughter of Stephen and Lisa Boutilier and a 2011 graduate of Bel Air High School; and Nathan Philip Frieswyk, of Bel Air, son of David and Consquelle Frieswyk and a 2008 graduate of Bel Air High School. The dean's list recognizes grade point averages of at least 3.6 out of a possible 4.0.

CLEMSON UNIVERSITY: Local residents graduated from Clemson University at three commencement ceremonies May 11: Michael Gregory Odonnell of Bel Air, who graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in marketing; David Henry Solberg of Bel Air, who graduated with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering; and Helen Ashton Williams of Jarrettsville, who graduated with a bachelor of science in biosystems engineering.

WIDENER UNIVERSITY: Lauren Royer of Bel Air, who is pursuing a behavioral sciences degree, were recognized as members of Phi Kappa Phi, the national honors society.

LEBANON VALLEY COLLEGE: The following students were named to the spring 2012 dean's list at Lebanon Valley College: Kristen E. Rooney of Havre de Grace, an early childhood education and special education major and Havre de Grace High School graduate; Daniel J. Brooks of Abingdon, a business administration major and John Carroll School graduate; Kristin C. Tracy of Bel Air, an economics major and C. Milton Wright High School graduate; Andrew S. Ebey of Jarrettsville, a music education major and North Harford High School graduate; Victoria Childers of Aberdeen, a music education major and Aberdeen High School graduate; Gabriel L. Lincoln-De Cusatis of Havre de Grace, a political science major and Harford Technical High School graduate; and Kaylin M. Honchar of Churchville, a psychology major and John Carroll School graduate.
