Among the 68 calls the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received for medical and fire-rescue service during the period May 27-June 3 were the following:
1583 Sulphur Spring Road, 2:45 p.m. June 1. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations responded to the report of fire in a large, outdoor metal trash container at Chesapeake Bay Coatings in Arbutus and extinguished a small fire.
Willys Avenue at Walnut Avenue, 6:22 a.m. June 1. Crews responded to the report of transformer fire in Arbutus and found a blown transformer. The scene was secured for crews from Baltimore Gas & Electric.
Maiden Choice Lane, 1000 block, 1:17 p.m. May 30. Crews responded to the report of motor vehicle accident in Arbutus and found a three-vehicle collision involving a trash truck. One person with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.
Cedar Circle, 2000 block, 9:31 a.m. May 30. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Westview career station responded to the report of person having trouble breathing in Westview. One seriously ill person taken to a local hospital.
Leeds Avenue, 4600 block, 1:55 a.m. May 27. Crews responded to the report of motor vehicle accident in Arbutus. One person with serious injuries taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
