The National Weather Service is calling for Tuesday to be increasingly cloudy, with a high near 91 and southwest winds between 7 and 10 miles per hour. There is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m. The weather service warns that a few of these storms may be capable of producing damaging winds and large hail.
A small craft advisory is in effect Tuesday afternoon and evening for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay and the lower tidal Potomac River.
Tuesday night is expected to be rainy, with a low around 74 and west winds between 5 and 8 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between one half of an inch and three quarters of an inch are possible.
Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 86 and west winds at 8 miles per hour becoming southerly. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Wednesday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 65 and south winds around 7 miles per hour becoming westerly. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
