Baltimore County police said a shooting and stabbing that took place in Dundalk on Sunday morning appear to have occurred during an attempted home invasion.

Police said Sunday night that the victims, identified as boyfriend and girlfriend, are a 30-year-old man who suffered a gunshot wound and a 28-year-old woman who was stabbed. Both were taken to area hospitals, and the man was last listed in critical condition, police said.

Police said the victims were injured during a confrontation with two black males, who forced in the rear door of the home, located in the 700 block of Aldworth Road. County police initially responded to a report of a shooting at the home about 10:44 a.m.

There is no additional description of the suspects, and county detectives have not determined a motive, police said.
