Children's triathlon: TriColumbia will host the 5th annual Kidz Triathlon on July 22 in Columbia. The event is one of four triathlons in the Maryland Youth Triathlon Series, which aims to promote sun safety awareness and practices. Participants are encouraged to raise money for the Joanna M. Nicholay Melanoma Foundation. The triathlon is open to children ages 7-15. The first event in the series, for ages 7-13, will be Saturday in Frederick. For information, go to TriColumbia.org.
Charity softball: The Double-A Bowie Baysox will present a game between alumni of the Colts and Ravens and the Washington Redskins on June 9 at 2:05p.m. Players on the Baltimore squad include Bruce Laird, Art Donovan, Lenny Moore and Tom Matte.
