Formerly Atlantic City Hilton and ACH, this newly renamed casino and hotel forgoes the glitz of newcomer Revel and offers a more cost-effective take on the fun Atlantic City offers.

Casino hours: 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Games to play: There are 58 live table games, including blackjack, roulette, mini baccarat and various versions of poker. Close to 1,500 slot machines line the floor, too.

Entertainment: Atlantic Club's priority is gaming, so don't expect too many options. (An exception: comedian Mario Cantone is scheduled to perform June 23. Ticket info available at The Beach Bar, a no-cover spot for frozen drinks and live bands, opens Memorial Day weekend.

Where to eat: AC Steak & Seafood and the Italian eatery Carmine's Trattoria offer reasonably priced dining options.

Where to stay: Like most Atlantic City casinos, the Club offers hotel rooms and suites. AAA recently awarded the Club its three-diamond rating.

Getting there: Atlantic City is about a three-hour drive from Baltimore. Take 95 North to the Walt Whitman Bridge, North-South Freeway (Route 42) to Atlantic City Expressway, Exit 2 (Route 40/Albany Avenue); straight to Pacific Avenue; left 3 blocks to Boston Avenue.
