Major Livingstone (Northwestern) scored the game-winner with two minutes left in the second overtime to lift the West over the East, 13-12, in the Baltimore City All-Star lacrosse game Wednesday at Mervo.
William Gatling (Northwestern) scored his fourth goal with 24seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 12 and force overtime. Livingstone also finished with four goals. The West trailed 6-3 at the half.
Baseball
Class 2A state semifinals: Both games, Willamsport (13-9) against Loch Raven (13-9) and Patterson Mill (19-4) versus Patuxent (18-4), were suspended. The Huskies and Panthers got in two-thirds of an inning before play was halted. The games will resume today at the University of Maryland.
Tuesday softball
Northern-Calvert 7, No. 4 Reservoir 2: Jess Cummings pitched a two-hitter to lead the Patriots (24-0) past the Gators (20-4) in a Class 3A semifinal at Bachman Park. Cummings struck out 12 to put the Patriots, who have won four straight state titles, into Saturday's championship game against Linganore, a 4-3 winner over No. 1 Eastern Tech in eight innings.
