Randy Waugh (Severna Park) had a game-high three goals and Limestone led from start to finish to beat host Le Moyne, 10-8, in an NCAA Division II men's lacrosse semifinal Saturday at Niland Athletic Complex in Syracuse, N.Y.
The Saints (17-1) advance to the title game for the first time since 2005. They will face Dowling (17-1) next Sunday in Foxborough, Mass.
The Saints scored on six of seven shots in the first half for a 6-2 lead at the break.
Dowling 7, Mercyhurst 6, OT: Kyle Sopko buried a feed from Brendan Hayes with 1 minute, 33 seconds left in overtime to lift the Golden Lions over the Lakers in an NCAA Division II semifinal at Le Moyne.
The teams played to a tie at 3 in a hard-fought first half. In the second half, the Lakers (13-1) scored twice in the first five minutes and built a two-goal cushion. After Sopko and Kyle Kallay traded goals, the Golden Lions (12-2) mounted their comeback, with Billy Richardson scoring twice 2:35 apart to even the game at 6.
