Pre-game notes: Orioles looking for sweep in D.C.

WASHINGTON — The Orioles head into today's series finale against the Nationals as winners of nine straight road games, looking to tie their longest road winning streak since Aug. 29-Sept. 24, 1999.

A win today would also set a new season-high winning streak of six and earn the Orioles their first undefeated road trip of five games since April 22-26, 2005.

Having said all that, the Orioles face a tough task today of facing Nationals ace Stephen Strasburg, who is 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA with 56 strikeouts and 37 hits allowed in 48 innings.

Orioles rookie left-hander  Wei-Yin Chen  is looking to start his major league career 5-0 and become just the second pitcher in franchise history (Ben McDonald) to begin his Orioles career 5-0.

Also, there will be some interest in the minors today, where Miguel Tejada makes his first start with Triple-A Norfolk and phenom right-hander Dylan Bundy starts for Class-A Delmarva against Hagerstown.
