Man dies of multiple gunshot wounds in Waverly

Police investigate shooting of 20-year-old man

A 20-year-old man died early Friday after being shot multiple times in North Baltimore.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of Mathews St., in the Better Waverly neighborhood, and found Dominique Barnes in the street suffering from gunshot wounds. Barnes, who according to court records had lived in the nearby 2600 block of Greenmount Ave., was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he died at 12:24 a.m.

Police had no motives and said the case remains open. Anyone with information was asked to call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.
