Youth dance

The Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department's Junior Firefighters sponsor a Luau youth dance from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 19, for ages 9-15 at the firehouse, 6275 Old Washington Road. Summer camps

Glen Mar United Methodist Church will hold one-week summer camp sessions June 18 through July 27 at the church, 4701 New Cut Road. Ellicott City Senior Center events in May:

'Cooking Under Pressure' Anne Kaiser and Pam Urnowey from Home Instead Senior Care will offer tips on the importance of good nutrition and healthful eating at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15. They will also share nutrition information and recipes. Free.

Genealogy class Bill Amos will discuss finding the burial locations of an ancestor from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 16. He will offer tips on how to get cemetery records, how to use them and what the payoff can be. Free.

Preakness brunch Kick off Preakness weekend with a chef's brunch at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18. A chef from Overlea Catering will create customized omelets. The meal includes potatoes, sausage and fruit. A reservation and center membership is required to attend. A prize will be given for the best flowered hat. Cost is $5.66. Sign up at front desk.
