One man is dead and a second is hospitalized in serious condition after two shootings over the weekend, Baltimore police said.

The shootings are under investigation and there is no indication they are related, police spokeswoman Valencia Nock said Sunday morning.

Police said that at around 2:45 a.m. Sunday an adult man was shot in the face, shoulder and abdomen in the 600 block of Eutaw Place and died a short time later. His name was not immediately available, as next of kin had not been notified, police said.

The earlier shooting occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday, when a 47-year-old man was shot in the face and chest in the 2700 block of West Baltimore Street, police said.
