Luis Exposito joining Orioles

BOSTON — Catcher Luis Exposito, claimed off waivers from the Red Sox two weeks ago, is down on the field at Fenway Park in an Orioles uniform.

That leads me to believe that the Orioles have made a yet-to-be-announced roster move bringing up Exposito, who is on the club's 40-man roster, to the big league club from Triple-A Norfolk.

We're waiting to see what the corresponding move is. It's still unknown whether outfielder Nolan Reimold will be available for this series. He went back to Baltimore to receive treatment for neck problems and hoped to return for this season.

Or it might not have anything to do with Reimold.

Adding a third catcher is interesting. We'll see what the Orioles are doing shortly.

In 13 games at Norfolk, Exposito hit .288 with a .339 on-base percentage and .423 slugging percentage with no homers and three RBIs.

Exposito has a .269/.325/.420 line in seven minor league seasons.

Here's the Red Sox's lineup:

Aviles SS
Middlebrooks 3B
A. Gonzalez 1B
Pedroia 2B
Ortiz DH
Ross RF
McDonald LF
Byrd CF
Shoppach C
Lester LHP
