Jordan Cargile and Breanna Casper were the one-two combination for top-ranked Eastern Tech softball Wednesday. Cargile threw a no-hitter and Casper led the bats as the host Mavericks defeated Western Tech, 11-0.

Cargile struck out 10 and Casper went 2-for-3 with a triple, a homer and four RBIs. Alex Peay (2-for-3) had four stolen bases for Eastern Tech.

No. 4 Howard 4, Marriotts Ridge 0: Winner Samantha O'Connor struck out seven in a two-hitter for the visiting Lions (12-2).

No. 5 Reservoir 13, River Hill 1: Winner Rachel Brown struck out four and went 2-for-4 with an RBI to power the visiting Gators (15-3) past the Hawks.

Mount de Sales 10, No. 6 Archbishop Spalding 7: A day after winning a no-hitter, the visiting Cavaliers (11-7) found themselves in a slugfest. The Sailors (8-9) trailed 6-3 before scoring five runs in the fourth inning to take the lead for good. Karly Sites hit a three-run triple in the fourth. Right-hander Ashley Lesniewski (8-7) struck out eight for the win.

No. 8 Broadneck 7, Arundel 0:Right-hander Emilee Pflueger (9-5) gave up four hits and one walk and struck out one against the visiting Wildcats. Kasey McDowell hit the only extra-base hit, a triple in the sixth inning, for the Bruins (11-5).

Franklin 11, Towson 0: Winner Tory Sobota struck out six and gave up one hit for the visiting Indians.


No. 4 Reservoir 10, No. 12 River Hill 2: Right-hander Lee Lawler (6-0) struck out six in six innings and Cody Morris pitched one inning of relief for the visiting Gators (15-1).

Reservoir hit 11 singles in a game that featured no extra-base hits.

Bel Air 7, No. 6 Patterson Mill 6: The visiting Bobcats put together a four-run fifth inning to upset the Huskies (14-3).

No. 7 Glenelg 4, Wilde Lake 2: Winner Tyler Hoeflich struck out nine and Logan Dubbe and Alex Melcher each doubled for the visiting Gladiators (13-4).

No. 9 Severna Park 13, South River 5: Bradley Keith had two doubles and the visiting Falcons (12-4) closed out the game with an eight-run seventh inning.

No. 13 Arundel 7, Broadneck 0: Winner Dalton Durocher pitched a three-hit shutout for the visiting Wildcats (14-4).

Loch Raven 8, Overlea 0: Right-hander Jake Ranniger (2-1) struck out 10 and pitched a one-hitter for the visiting Raiders (7-8).

Annapolis Area Christian 8, Friends 2: Albert Taylor had three hits and the host Eagles (11-1) clinched the top seed in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference playoffs.

No. 14 C. Milton Wright 18, Aberdeen 1: Sara Nolan had two goals and an assist to power the host Mustangs (10-3), who led 10-0 at the break.
