Baltimore police are investigating two shootings that occurred Wednesday night, including a man who was shot in the chest while robbing a store north of Druid Hill Park in the Woodberry neighborhood.
Few details of that shooting were available this morning. Police said the man who had been shot made his own way to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, walking in to the emergency room about 9:10 p.m.
Police said their investigation revealed that he had been shot while trying to rob a store in the 3600 block of Parkdale Ave. The name of the shop was not immediately disclosed, and police did not say whether the person who shot the man reported it to authorities.
Later Wednesday night, police found another shooting victim in East Baltimore. About 11:15 p.m., a police officer responding to a report of a shooting at Montford and Ashland avenues saw a car speeding up North Milton Avenue.
It stopped at Ashland Avenue, police said, and an officer who approached saw a 28-year-old man in the back seat suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper left side of chest. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately released.
Police said the shooting occurred in the 800 block of North Patterson Park Ave.
