Online tool lets businesses search for Md. location

May 01, 2012|By Jamie Smith Hopkins, The Baltimore Sun

State economic development officials have launched an online tool to help companies interested in relocating to Maryland or local businesses in need of new space.

The Maryland Business Properties database lets users search available sites by type, size, location, zoning and rail service. More than 400 properties and 1,400 buildings are listed, the state Department of Business and Economic Development said Tuesday.

The tool, which also has market data such as household income and workforce information, is at http://choosemaryland.org/moveyourbusiness/Pages/PropertySearchForm.aspx.

It's the third searchable tool released by the agency this year. Finance Tracker — http://choosemaryland.org/businessresources/Pages/FinanceTrackerHomePage.aspx — has information about financial incentives the state has provided to businesses. Maryland Business Map — http://choosemaryland.org/factsstats/Pages/MDbizMap.aspx — lets users map details such as tax rates and the location of the fastest-growing companies.
