Germano's Trattoria changes its name

Germano's Trattoria is now Germano's. The name change, according to Cyd Wolf, brings two separately named operations, the trattoria and Germano's Cabaret, under one umbrella.

The name change comes with the launch of new menu for the cabaret that will feature daily specials, at the request of cabaret regulars, Wolf said. On the new cabaret menu are big plates like osso buco, lasgana, grillled salmon fillet and linguini puttanesca as well as lighter fare like personal pizzas, hamburgers and salmon burgers.

Germano's sent along information about a special Mother's Day cabaret brunch, too. The May 13 afternoon event features cabaret veterans Pam Parker and  Jobari Parker-Namdar. Parker is a five time Washington Area Music Association (WAMMIE) nominee for Best Jazz Vocalist and co-Winner of a 2010 WAMMIE for Best Cabaret (Killer Stilts). Jobari is a 2011 Helen Hayes nominee for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical.

The $28 brunch includes a first course of antipasti and bruschette, followed by a trio of ravioli (beet, lobster and spinach). Third course is a choice of pollo involtini or salmone pisana, and dessert is choice of gelato or cheesecake. 

Doors open at 12 noon for pre-show dining, and there is a $10 cover for the cabaret itself.
