Men's college lacrosse: No. 13 Syracuse (7-5) survived a second-half scare to defeat host Hobart (3-8), 13-12, and secure the Kraus-Simmons Trophy for the sixth straight season. Derek Maltz became the first Orange player since 2008 to score six goals in a game. ... Five of Maltz's goals came in the first half as Syracuse built a 10-4 halftime advantage before Hobart outscored the Orange 8-3 in the final 30 minutes. Maryland junior attackman Owen Blye was named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week. ... Salisbury (15-0) maintained its position as the No. 1-ranked team in the country in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III coaches poll. The Sea Gulls received 12 of 13 first-place votes for a total of 259 points. The other first-place vote went in favor of SUNY-Cortland.

College softball: Maryland senior Kendra Knight notched her fifth career Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week Award, and freshman Shannon Bustillos earned the second Player of the Week honor of her career.

College baseball: Sophomore left-hander Kyle Paul pitched seven innings of three-hit ball as host Towson (19-18) handed Mount St. Mary's (12-28) a 10-5 loss in a nonconference game. ... Salisbury, ranked No. 3 in Division III, scored three runs in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie and held on to top visiting St. Mary's, 6-3, in the first round of the CAC tournament. The top-seeded Sea Gulls (27-6) advance to host third-seeded Frostburg State, which lost, 5-3, to fourth-seeded Wesley in 12 innings. The second-round game will take place Friday at 12:30 p.m. ... Towson freshman outfielder Peter Bowles was honored as the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week. Johns Hopkins senior Aaron Borenstein was named D3baseball.com's Catcher of the Week. ... McDaniel sophomore James Chiorello was named Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Men's college tennis: Freshman Vlad Stefan was voted the ACC Co-Player of the Week. ... Salisbury freshman Daniel Albers was honored as the CAC Co-Player of the Week.
