'Hope for Homeless'
The Route 1 Day Resource Center, the Mid-Maryland Baptist Association and County Councilman Calvin Ball will host the "Hope for the Homeless" 5K run at Rockburn Park Saturday, May 5, at 9 a.m. The run will be on a trail course with a low-impact surface. This year's event will also feature a one-mile fun run/walk. Early-bird registration is $20 before April 15, then increases to $30 per runner. Brain fitness
Registered nurse Robin Zahor presents "Healthy Sleeping Habits" at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at the Ellicott City Senior Center. Learn how sleep can affect brain performance. Glen Mar United Methodist Church will hold one-week summer camp sessions June 18 through July 27 at the church, 4701 New Cut Road. Driver safety program The Ellicott City Senior Center presents the American Association of Retired Persons' driver safety program from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday. The class covers rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to adjust to age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. The cost is $14, $12 for AARP members.
