Three gymnasts from the Harford Gymnastics Training Center were honored with the Strength of Character Award at the 2012 Pink Invitational at the Philadelphia Convention Center Feb. 25 through Feb. 27. The Pink Invitational is a nationally renowned gymnastics competition benefiting Unite for Her, an organization committed to providing programs that educate women on and raise funds for breast cancer.

At the conclusion of each session, judges selected one gymnast worthy of a Strength of Character Award. Lydia Thompson, a level 10 competitor from Bel Air, Ashley Kutcher, a level 8 competitor from Bel Air, and Caitlyn Allen, a level 7 competitor from Forest Hill, represented Harford Gymnastics as recipients of this award for their respective sessions. Each gymnast exhibited resilient character traits that gymnastics teaches to overcome adversity with grace during the competition.

Harford Gymnastics strives to foster and develop well-rounded individuals and teach life lessons through sport to children and young adults enrolled in its class and competitive team programs. Harford is proud of Thompson, Kutcher and Allen for competing in a way that fully demonstrates the Harford Gymnastics philosophy.
