Girls lacrosse: Havre de Grace wins pair over Rising Sun, Aberdeen

The Havre de Grace girls lacrosse team continued on its early season roll Wednesday night, beating visiting Rising Sun, 13-4. The Warriors also beat Aberdeen, which beat Edgewood. Perryville was also in the win column.

Eva Villareal led the Warriors against Rising Sun with four goals, and Carly Thompson added three. Brianna Haffey, Haley Dean, Kara Neiberlein and Margaret Stump each had two goals.

Warrior goalie Abbie Blessing chalked up the win with 12 saves. Dean and Katie Thompson each had six ground balls, while Katie Thompson also had four interceptions.

Carly Thompson added six draw controls.

Havre de Grace pastes Aberdeen

Visiting Havre de Grace beat Route 40 rival Aberdeen, 16-10, last Friday.

Kara Neiberlein led the Warriors with a three-goal performance. Eva Villareal, Haley Dean, Katie Thompson, Margaret Stump, Colleen McCormick and Carly Thompson all scored twice in the victory. Haley Stewart scored once and had an assist for Havre de Grace, while McCormick also had one assist.

Djene Diane scored four goals to lead Aberdeen, while Kayla Gardner scored three goals. Morgan Tildon, Lucy Daghir and April Privett each scored once. Tildon had Aberdeen's lone assist.

Abigail Blessing saved five shots in goal for the Warriors, while Aberdeen keeper Rebecca Lewis had nine saves.

Eagles beat Rams

Aberdeen overcame a one goal halftime deficit Tuesday and bounced back to beat host Edgewood, 9-8, in girls lacrosse action.

The Eagles trailed the Rams 5-4 at the half.

Djene Diane tallied three goals to lead the Eagles, who also got two goals each from Kayla Gardner and Megan Lutrey. Morgan Tildon and Tara Pinto also had goals for the Eagles and Rebecca Lewis had the lone Aberdeen assist.

Natalee Olah led Edgewood with four goals, while Ladae Boykin added two goals and one assist. Alyssa Rankin and Caitlin Rankin added a goal apiece and Kara Andrews had one assist.

Megan Schoenberger earned the win in the Aberdeen goal with 11 saves and Edgewood keeper Taylor Kennedy-Larosa made 16 saves.

Panthers beat Tigers

Perryville rolled over host Rising Sun, 19-5, in girls lacrosse action from Monday.

Katie Clelland had the hot hand for the Panthers, netting six goals and dishing out two assists. Heather Rayman scored five goals and added one assist and Savannah Fox tallied four goals.

Olivia Oldach and Hannah Wein scored a pair of goals each and goalie Mariah Fields had nine saves.
