Here’s a round-up of some retail events:

Giant Food is opening a 48,500 square foot store at 1010 W. 41st Street in Baltimore on Friday, March 30th.  The Green Spring Tower Square Giant is holding a ribbon cutting the night before at 6 p.m.

The store, which has been expanded, used to be a Fresh & Green store.  Among the features, a self-serve coffee station, full-service floral department, international section as well as hand-held scanners that customers can use to scan and bag their groceries as they shop.

Meanwhile, last Sunday Soft and Cozy Baby opened a new store at 915 W. 36th St. in Baltimore. The retailer features environmentally friendly baby supplies, i.e., cloth diapers.

And on April 26th, from 5 to 8 p.m., the Mall in Columbia is hosting a “Sip Savor Shop” benefit for the United Way of Central Maryland. Food and drink will be provided by mall restaurants, and other retailers are expected to provide an “exclusive glimpse into the latest fashions,” the mall says.

Tickets are $25 online, although you can enter the code TMIC to get $5 off the price.
