Arbutus fire log: Volunteer firefighters put out fire in Patapsco State Park Friday

Among the 64 calls for medical and fire-rescue service received by the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department March 18-25 were the following:

6000 Glen Artney Road, 2:30 p.m. March 23. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville career station responded to the report of a fire in the Glen Artney Area of Patapsco Valley State Park and extinguished the fire

Wilkens Avenue at Kenwood Avenue, 8:41 a.m. March 23. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with a person trapped in a vehicle. One seriously injured person rescued from the vehicle and taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Langford Road, 1500 block, 8:36 p.m. March 20. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville and Westview career stations responded to the report of dwelling fire in Westview and extinguished a stove top fire.

Gun Road, 400 block, 2:21 a.m. March 20. Crews responded to the report of a fire at a utility pole in Arbutus and found electrical arcing. Hazard was controlled until BGE arrived.

6205 Baltimore National Pike, Wal-Mart, 9:02 a.m. March 19. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville career station responded to the report of motor vehicle accident with injury in Catonsville. One seriously injured person taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
