New acquisition Dontrelle Willis made his Orioles debut in the sixth inning, and went on to walk the first three hitters he faced , throwing balls on 12 of his first 16 pitches.
Willis, signed Tuesday after he was released by the Phillies, didn't yield a hit but allowed two runs but only one was earned because of a Mark Reynolds throwing error.
"Try to keep in mind it's been eightdays since he's pitched and he should have gotten out of the inning unscathed if we could defend," Showalter said.
