No one dominated this season the way Jones did. At 6feet3 with soft hands, great positioning and teammates ready to give her the ball at every opportunity, she owned the post while leading the No. 1 Eagles to their first girls basketball state championship.

Jones averaged 23.5 points, 11.6rebounds and 4.2 blocks. In the regional championship against No. 10Milford Mill, she scored a career-high 40 points. In three years, she has 1,627 points and 914 rebounds.

"I like the way she positions herself," Dunbar coach Wardell Selby said. "She bodies up real well, and she knows how to turn and keep the ball above her head. ... She's a total team player. I wish I had her."

In the Class 3A final, she had 25 points and 13 rebounds in a 63-48 victory over No. 11 River Hill. She led the Eagles (27-1) to seven wins against teams in The Baltimore Sun's final poll, and they lost only to nationally ranked Riverdale Baptist.

An All-Metro first-team pick last season, she is being recruited by Maryland, Virginia, Georgetown, South Carolina and others.
