March 22, 2012

Kristen Giovanniello, Dartmouth

Sophomore, Old Brookville, N.Y., Goalie

Big Green coach Amy Patton said Giovanniello played her best college game while making a career-high 17 saves in a 13-9 win over Vermont, which had been averaging 15.8 goals a game. The sophomore followed that with a nine-save effort in Saturday's 9-8, double-overtime win against then-No. 3 Duke, including several late stops that put her team in position to win. She also had 11 ground balls in the two games. During the Big Green's 5-0 start, Giovanniello did not allow any opponent to hit double digits and posted a 7.39 goals-against average.
