1 killed, 2 wounded in city shootings

Two shootings occurred Tuesday evening along North Avenue, according to police

One person was killed and two were wounded in shootings Tuesday night in Baltimore, police said.

A person died after being shot near the intersection of W. North Ave. and Ashburton St., just southwest of the Coppin State University campus, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

One person was arrested in connection with the shooting.

Shortly after 11 p.m., a man was shot in the 500 block of E. 21st St., along the border of the East Baltimore Midway and Barclay neighborhoods, police said.

Because of the severity of the injury, homicide detectives were assigned to investigate, they said.

At around 9:30 p.m., a shooting was confirmed near the intersection of Edmondson Ave. and N. Woodington Road, between the neighborhoods of Edmondson Village and Rognel Heights, police said.

The injury from that shooting was not life threatening.

Police had not made any other information about the shootings publicly available by 11:45 p.m.
