March 19, 2012|By Matt Bracken | The Baltimore Sun

Maryland women's center signee Malina Howard has finished her high school career on top.

Howard scored 14 points Saturday night to help Twinsburg to a 57-51 over Kettering Fairmont in the Ohio Division I championship game. It was Twinsburg's second straight state title.

The Firebirds pulled within 36-34 with 6:07 left, but Twinsburg grabbed the momentum by going to 6-4 senior/Maryland recruit Malina Howard, who scored two quick backdoor buckets off Leah Fechko assists to push the Tigers in front, 40-34. A layup and three-point play by Morrissette improved Twinsburg's lead to 45-38.

* Trey Dickerson, a senior point guard from Los Angeles who drew some Terps interest, has committed to Seattle University.

* Terps shooting guard target Aaron Harrison was named MVP of Texas' District 23-5A.

Ranked in the top 10 nationally in the junior class, Aaron Harrison averaged 18.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.5 steals this season.
