Letter: Group sees progress clearing trail in Catonsville

Letter to the editor

March 19, 2012

Catonsville Rails To Trails (CRTT) has been busy this fall and winter, developing the Short Line Trail.

We are a half-mile ahead of schedule, due to the many volunteers who help us week after week.

Special thanks to volunteers Kit Valentine and Sheldon Smith, who are extraordinary leaders in this grass roots, hands-on effort.

CRTT is not all about work; we do some fun things like free bike rides.

On Saturday, March 24, Charlie Murphy has organized a spring bike ride to Dickeyville and back.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at Atwater's Bakery, 815 Frederick Road.

The bike ride is free, but donations and memberships are appreciated.

Our crews are in need of garden tools.

If you are downsizing or have a few extra tools, call 443-326-5474 or email sweeneysmith@comcast.net.
