Showers, low around 43 Thursday night

The National Weather Service is calling for Friday to be cloudy and breezy in the Baltimore area, with a high near 69 degrees and south winds of 15 to 23 miles per hour, gusting as high as 37 miles per hour.

A small craft advisory is in effect Thursday and Thursday night for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay and tidal Potomac River. The weather service notes that additional marine warnings may be needed Thursday night because showers and gusty winds are expected to cross the bay and river.

Thursday night is expected to be rainy, mainly before 4 a.m., with a low around 43 and south winds 17 to 20 miles per hour becoming northwesterly. Winds could gust as high as 31 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Friday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 58 and northwest winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour.

Friday night is expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 35 and northwest winds between 9 and 11 miles per hour.
