Orioles second baseman still unsure when he'll be able to get into game situation

Manager Buck Showalter said right-fielder Nick Markakis continued to progress with his rehabilitation from offseason abdominal surgery by running full sprints for the first time. … Armando Galarraga threw two scoreless innings in Wednesday's game, while fellow right-handers Luis Ayala, Matt Lindstrom, Steve Johnson and Oscar Villarreal each threw scoreless frames for the Orioles. … Left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada (left elbow inflammation) threw long toss from 120 feet, then threw a 25-pitch bullpen session from a full mound, mixing in some sliders and changeups. He will likely throw another bullpen session Friday. … After making his first two Grapefruit League starts at designated hitter, Nick Johnson is slated to start at first base Thursday. … Showalter was impressed with Jai Miller's three-run double in the eighth and suggested the outfielder will get more playing time. … Pitching coach Rick Adair said left-hander Brian Matusz threw his best bullpen session of the spring Wednesday.
