March 05, 2012|From Sun staff reports

In the last game of the Major Indoor Soccer League regular season Sunday, Max Ferdinand scored in overtime to send the Blast to a 15-13 win over the host Syracuse Silver Knights.

Adriano Dos Santos led the way with two goals to help give the Blast (18-6) home-field advantage throughout postseason play.

Dos Santos, who also scored two goals in Friday's 18-12 home win over the Wichita Wings, knocked in the first goal of Sunday's game just nine seconds in to give the Blast an early 2-0 lead. The Blast gave up the next two goals, to JD Gruenewald and Enrique Tovar, before Shaun David tied the game and Dos Santos scored again to recapture the lead at 6-4.

Ricardinho scored just 49 seconds into the second quarter to extend the advantage to 8-4 before Nelson Santana's goal in the 10th minute cut the Blast lead to 8-6 heading into halftime.

Andriy Budnyy scored a three-point goal midway through the third quarter to give the Silver Knights a 9-8 lead, their first lead since the first quarter, but Stephen DeRoux cut the Knights' lead to 11-10 with less than four minutes remaining in the quarter.

Rookie Mike Deasel scored a three-point goal at the six-minute mark of the final quarter to put the Blast back on top. Syracuse's Richard Shaw answered in the 11th minute to tie the game at 13 and force overtime.

The Blast is back in action Saturday to host the Rochester Lancers in Game 1 of the Eastern Division finals.
