The state's two casinos generated $15 million in revenue in February, a 67 percent increase from a year ago, the Maryland Lottery reported Monday.

Hollywood Casino Perryville reported its highest monthly revenue since it opened in September 2010, generating $11.5 million last month.

The Casino at Ocean Downs on the Eastern Shore reported $3.5 million in revenue in February.

The slots revenue reflects sales after winners are paid.

Of the revenue, nearly 50 percent goes to the state education trust fund and 33 percent is directed to the casino operators. The remaining money is split among various entities, including the horse-racing purse account; a fund for track improvements; local governments; the Maryland Lottery; and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.

Last year, the two casinos reported $9 million in revenue in February.
