Radebaugh injury means more faceoffs for Salisbury's Granelli

Junior has taken 70 of Sea Gulls' 85 draws thus far

February 27, 2012|By Edward Lee

Last season, Justin Radebaugh won 42 of 71 faceoffs for Salisbury after transferring from UMBC.

But the Lutherville native and Boys’ Latin graduate has not made an appearance in each of the team’s first two games this year due to post-concussion symptoms. That means more reps for junior Tyler Granelli, who has taken 70 of the Sea Gulls’ 85 faceoffs this season and won 44.

“It’s pretty much a one-man show because Justin has a concussion,” coach Jim Berkman said last week. “That’s why you haven’t seen his name in the stats. He hasn’t suited up for a game yet. We’re hoping that maybe next week, he’s going to get back. But Tyler’s good at the X. He’s also a step better at handling the ball and getting to the goal.”
