To pay for contraceptives is to endorse their use

February 13, 2012

Are the editors of The Sun unfamiliar with the word, "condone?"

Clearly, providing health insurance that covers the cost of contraceptives condones the use of contraceptives ("O'Brien's quixotic fight," Feb. 9). Paying a salary to an employee for work done condones nothing. The two situations are entirely different.

The Sun's argument is akin to suggesting that there is no difference between giving a paycheck to alcoholic employee and giving him a discount coupon from the local liquor store along with his paycheck.
