The National Weather Service is calling for showers and thunderstorms in the Baltimore area on Friday, mainly before 10 a.m., with a high near 59 and south winds 13 to 21 miles per hour becoming westerly. Winds could gust as high as 33 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent.

A small craft advisory is in effect Friday and Friday evening for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay and the tidal Potomac River. A gale warning may be needed for these waters Friday evening.

Friday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 39 and west winds between 5 and 14 miles per hour.

Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 54 and southwest winds between 3 and 11 miles per hour.

Saturday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 34 and west winds between 8 and 15 miles per hour.
