Woman dead after single-car crash in White Marsh

Car swerved across the lanes before hitting two trees, police said

An 84-year-old woman died Friday after crashing her car into two trees in White Marsh, police said.

About 12:30 p.m., the woman, who has not yet been identified, was driving east on Philadelphia Road near Maudes Way when her car began to swerve off the road and across the median, according to Baltimore County Police.

The woman struck two mailboxes before hitting two trees head-on in her 1993 Ford Crown Victoria, police said.

She was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead at 1:45 p.m.
