Letter: Dance in March to support Catonsville celebration in July

Letter to the editor

January 22, 2012

It is hard to believe that the 66th annual Catonsville parade and fireworks will occur in 160 days.

The Catonsville Fourth of July Committee is tasked with raising $100,000 between now and July 4.

Once again, we are calling on all Catonsville residents to assist us with fundraising.

A great way to help and have fun is to buy tickets for the yearly Dance for the Fourth, which will be held Saturday, March 3, from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Catonsville Armory.

Playing old favorites and contemporary music, Appaloosa, will provide fabulous tunes for dancing.

We also need donations for the silent auction.

This event is usually a sellout, so purchase a ticket soon.

Tickets are available at http://www.catonsvillecelebrations.org or by calling DyAnn at 410-746-9828.

We have dozens of volunteer opportunities, which can be viewed on our website.

Last year, we made a modest profit of $7,000 because residents pitched in.

Make 2012 the year you decide to get involved in the greatest event in Catonsville. Make a donation today.
