Boys basketball: North Harford beats Fallston

Edgewood, Joppatowne, Patterson Mill also win

The North Harford Hawks entered Friday's home-court battle with Fallston having lost their previous three regular season games, but managed to correct the skid by topping the visiting Cougars, 85-74. Joppatowne and Patterson Mill also won Friday night in boys basketball.

Heading into the halftime break in Pylesville, North Harford held a 37-30 advantage.

North Harford hit all but five of its free throws, going 24-for-29 from the charity stripe.

Leading the way for the winning side was Rodney Barnett, who put up 31 points, and was 7-for-9 from the field.

Nick Tittle came through with a 28-point, five-assist performance in the victory, while fellow Hawk Brock Hurley scored 11 points and had 12 rebounds. Ryan Stinar grabbed seven rebounds for North Harford.

Joppatowne tops Bel Air in OT

Playing on the road Friday evening, the Joppatowne Mariners escaped from Bel Air with a 57-52 overtime victory over the Bobcats.

Up at halftime, 35-25,the Mariners allowed the Bobcats to claw back in the final two quarters with the two tied at 51 at the end of regulation.

Markell Huggins had 22 points, six rebounds and three steals in the victory, while teammate Keith Alexander put up 12 points, five rebounds and five assists. Joppatowne's Trevon Mosely had nine points and five rebounds.

Tommy Keller had 24 points and eight rebounds for Bel Air, while teammate Tyler Norcross had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Huskies pound Tigers

The Patterson Mill Huskies won going away Friday, dispatching the Rising Sun Tigers, 69-27.

After two quarters of play, the guests were leading 40-17.

J.J. Butler led the Huskies with 24 points, while Garett Burkhead added 17 points in the win. Mike Reed and Malik Bonds each had six points for Patterson Mill, while Brandon Burris scored five.

Edgewood beats C. Milton Wright

The Edgewood Rams beat the C. Milton Wright Mustangs handily, 81-53, Friday night.

Thomas Dillard had 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists in the win, while fellow Ram Maulvi Williams posted 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals. Van Rolle had 14 points, five assists and three steals for Edgewood, while teammate Freddie Story had eight points and four rebounds. Roderick Harrison led the Rams in assists with eight, and grabbed six rebounds. Edgewood's Lolami Lola-Charles pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.

Conner Bays paced the Mustang offense with 14 points, while Chris Panzeri scored eight points in the loss. Sam Hahner and Jamal Worthington each scored six for CMW, while Mychal Stefanides scored seven points.
