A fire broke out early Saturday morning near the Poppleton neighborhood of West Baltimore.

According to fire officials, the blaze was called in at about 5 a.m. in the 1100 block of W. Saratoga St.

Three vacant rowhouses were ablaze — the homes at 1112, 1114, and 1116 W. Saratoga St. One of the structures partially collapsed, says city fire department spokesman Kevin Cartwright.

About 60 firefighters responded to the event, and the blaze was under control in about 40 minutes.

No firefighters or civilians were injured, Cartwright said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
