Flacco proud of durability

Quarterback's streak of regular-season starts exceeded only by two others

Joe Flacco was one of 14 quarterbacks to start in all 16 games in the regular season. But Flacco’s durability extends even further back.

Flacco has never missed a regular-season start in his four years with the Ravens. Only the New York Giants’ Eli Manning (2005-2011) and the San Diego Chargers’ Philip Rivers (2006-11) have longer streaks than Flacco.

Flacco, who played a portion of the 2009 campaign with a deep bruise covering his entire right hip, was reminded Thursday about his ability to stay relatively injury-free.

“I didn’t really think about it, but I think one of the things about being a good quarterback in this league is to show up every week and put your team in a chance to win and be that guy that’s there every week for your team,” Flacco said. “And I take a lot of pride into it. Hopefully, I can continue to keep it up. But I definitely [think about it] – like I said, not much – but I do realize that I’ve done that.”
