A 37-year-old man was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison for killing a teenage Baltimore City girl whose body has never been found.

Jason M. Gross was convicted in October of second-degree murder in the death of Rochelle Battle, 16. Battle had vanished in March 2009 after leaving her home in northwest Baltimore.

Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge Kathleen Cox sentenced Gross.

He also was sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison for an unrelated third-degree sex offense on another woman. He was convicted of that crime in November.
