A man trying to throw an intoxicated reveler out of a New Year's party in Odenton was stabbed in the leg early Sunday, according to Anne Arundel County police.

Michael A. Daniels, 26, of Washington, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, but police said his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Police said the incident occurred about 3:30 a.m in a house in the 300 block of Cowman Court. Officers found a 26-year-old man who said he was stabbed "while trying to remove an intoxicated person" from the house.

A police spokesman identified the suspect as the intoxicated man.
